How DROP Reviews a Potential Opportunity
Follow a source statement through product evidence, review, rejection and human feedback without treating a model label as a customer.
Short answer. DROP reads a public product or creator page, builds task searches, collects available posts and reviews their fit. A displayed opportunity needs support in the post and the documented offer. You still decide whether it is useful after checking the original conversation.
Trace one decision
Fictional training record for a feedback product.
| Stage | Example | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Source statement | “How do I merge repeated feature requests?” | A stated task |
| Product evidence | The product page documents merging duplicate requests | A shipped capability; not proof of user satisfaction |
| Review | The task and capability align; original context still needed | Potential opportunity |
| Counterexample | “Our team requires SSO,” when SSO is absent | Reject the fit even if the task overlaps |
| Human decision | Open the original post and use the feedback control | A personal relevance judgment, separate from a purchase |
A zero can occur at different stages
An unreadable product page, incomplete source job, pending review, allowance wait and reviewed empty sample are different states. Read the status before changing the product or query.
Keep the product understanding current
Inspect whether the saved description still includes your current features. A newly launched integration cannot support a match if its public evidence has not been read. Changing the label alone does not verify a new capability.
Inspect the chain of evidence
Illustrative exercise — not a real customer result.
Worth checking: A page documenting CSV exports can support a match with a post asking for CSV reporting. Check the page understanding, source text and fit explanation together.
Do not count: A keyword match to “reporting” is insufficient if the author actually needs an integration the product lacks.
Next step: Use relevance feedback for mistakes; distinguish unavailable source data from rejected candidates.
Try it step by step
- Check the extracted website understanding and task phrases for accuracy.
- Read the displayed source status: collection, waiting for a supplier, review and completed searches are different stages.
- Verify the original post, matching reason and available product evidence. Keep your own accept/reject notes when a result is not useful.
Using DROP for this task
DROP is a social listening and customer discovery tool for product makers and content creators. Paid monitoring supports 4 platforms: X, Reddit, LinkedIn and Threads. Focus includes up to 500 post reads per paid period; Growth includes up to 3,000. Reads are not guaranteed leads. The initial logged-in preview samples X and Reddit.
Inspect a product example · Inspect a creator example · Pricing and limits. Both examples are fictional and need no login. Read a real DROP snapshot with original-source excerpts and limitations.
Are all collected posts opportunities?
No. Collected candidates are reviewed and deduplicated. A keyword hit, unsupported inference or unrelated promotion should not become an opportunity.
Why are today’s posts and today’s discoveries different?
A post published earlier can be discovered today. Check the post’s publication date separately from collection or review timing.
