Two-month old baby panda cubs have met for the first time at the Berlin Zoo, as their mother munched on bamboo and apples nearby, in footage from Wednesday.

The twins, who spend most of their time in an incubator in the Berlin zoo, weigh around three kilograms (6.6 lbs) each. Once they are stronger they will be able to explore outside of their enclosure with their mother, Meng Meng, meaning 'sweet dream', expected to be at the start of the new year.

Footage shows the cubs snuggling up to each other before being cuddled by their mother.
